About This Spot

Rolling up to Dee Dee's Diner and Motel, just a short turn off the highway, feels like stepping into a warmly remembered chapter of a simpler time. The hum of daily life here moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace, inviting you to pause, breathe, and settle in for an experience that’s as much about connection as it is about the food. This is a place where the quiet buzz of conversation blends with the comforting clink of plates and the soft glow of classic diner décor—a gentle nod to the 1960s that wraps every meal in an atmosphere both nostalgic and genuine.

The diner serves up more than just food; it offers a gathering spot where families, travelers, and locals alike find a warm welcome. There’s a distinct sense of care woven through every interaction, reflected in thoughtful touches—from the inviting bunk beds in the motel’s family rooms to the smiles that greet you at the diner counter. Whether you’re sharing a morning coffee, indulging in a carefully crafted ice cream sundae, or enjoying a hearty home-style lunch, the experience is quietly joyful, with each dish telling a story of comfort and familiarity.

The menu feels like a scrapbook of beloved classics, each plate prepared with a loving attention to detail. You might find yourself drawn to the savory richness of a layered Reuben or the satisfying simplicity of a fresh veggie burger, while the aroma of crispy onion rings or a basket of dip-ready fries fills the air. It’s the kind of place where dessert isn’t an afterthought but part of the charm—the kind of treat that’s made with the same love, whether it’s a double scoop of ice cream or a generous banana split that brings smiles all around the table.

Staying overnight? The motel’s rooms offer a quiet retreat with a feeling of genuine hospitality. Guests often note the comforts that make it feel like a home away from home—the cozy beds, easy access to streaming channels, and that reassuring atmosphere where every guest is made to feel seen and cared for.

Dee Dee’s is a rare find where kindness and community sit at the heart of the experience, nestled alongside good food and thoughtful service. It’s a practical stop on a road trip, a weekend stay, or a local gathering place that invites you to slow down just a little and savor moments cherished over time.

Stayed overnight at Dee Dee’s. Booked two room, a family room for my sister and a single room for myself. The family room worked well for my sister as it has a bunk bed for the children. The single room has a comfy bed and television with all the streaming channels. I had a great nights sleep. After the stay, we had a wonderful breakfast and great service in the dinner upstairs. Would stay again.

This is my second time to this restaurant. My first time, I went with my Son. This time, I took my Husband . We all loved the decore and the food. It is only five minutes off of Hwy 69 at exit 64 and quite worth the drive. The decore is similar to the 60's diners. Very clean environment and washroom. Will be stopping there again.

We stopped in on Boxing Day and they were just closing down. She was gracious enough to let us use the washroom when other places in town had no public washrooms to use. She offered us what she had and was so kind. Highly recommend this place simply because of the kindness shown to us. Thank you Dee Dee’s!! Merry Christmas

Amazing food and great service. The wonderful woman running the ice cream stand put so much love and effort into making our ice cream sundae perfect and picturesque. The diner food is equally delicious and you can tell they put that same love and effort into everything. Definitely my favorite place to go when I come up from the US to visit.

I had a today’s special, Jan 8, 2026, chicken quesadilla and cream of broccoli with cheese and bacon and it was fantastic. I enjoy my lunches light and fresh tasting and this nailed both items. I will return.

The ice cream is amazing and reasonably priced. So many different styles of ice cream, dipped cones, and something called “load a cup”. Worth the trip from Sturgeon Bay provincial park.
